Inspired...... is the word I choose to describe my last couple of days of training in D.C. I have never felt so powerful, determined and ready to conquer anything that comes my way!

The training in D.C. has opened up my mind to new ideas, definitions and critical thinking skills that I have never thought about in the past. For example, we discussed the difference between service and help. In training we read and discussed the article Helping, Fixing or Serving is the following: "Fixing and helping are draining, and over time we may burn out, but service is renewing" (Remen, p.6). This quote allowed me to understand that instead of thinking of the work I am doing in Rwanda as helping I should think about it as service. This lesson is just a few of the many of the important lessons I have taken away from the last couple of days.

Not only have I become aware of new information such as social impact, social justice, linguistics, and finance language but I have also have grown as a person. I have become more adaptable to the unknown and a more relaxed person, yes... I said relaxed.

It's hard to believe that tomorrow is my last full day of training in D.C., as I depart for my 26-hour journey to Rwanda on Sunday.

Stay tuned for some crazy stories from Rwanda!

-April
